Dirk specialises in real estate transactions, distressed transactions and represents creditors in relation to distressed companies. He is a member of the International Real Estate Practice Group and the International Insolvency & Corporate Reconstruction Group.

He is experienced in structuring and implementation of complex transactions, including joint ventures, take over of assets from insolvency administrators, acquisition of huge real estate portfolios and non-performing loan portfolios. He is familiar with the specialties of both, bidding processes and off-market transactions.

Before joining Bird & Bird, Dirk worked at Weil, Gotshal & Manges. He was admitted to the Frankfurt Bar in 2000. Dirk holds a doctorate in law from the University of Mannheim.
