Bird & Bird's International Aerospace, Defence and Security Group would like to invite you to a breakfast seminar titled 'Managing Disputes in the Aerospace and Defence sector' on Wednesday 16 March 2011 from 08.00.

Contracts come in all shapes and sizes.  Contracts for projects between industrial partners/governments/ subcontractors are entered into for the long term, and parties need to make things work.  Such relationships are sometimes best described as the contracting equivalent of a marriage - parties bound together for many years, where the breaking free (if such an alternative is available at all) can spell the end of profit or reputation.  However, sometimes, marriages do break down; either where parties have simply been unable to find a way through to salvage a relationship, budgets have disappeared or progressing a contract to the end has otherwise proved impossible for reasons of risk or liability.

In the aftermath of the autumn spending review, when relationships are being tested, this session looks at best practice in clause drafting, what to expect in international projects, how best to manage contractual relationships so as to try and avoid ending up in formal litigation or arbitration, and (where that proves unavoidable) how to streamline formal dispute resolution processes.

We hope that you will be able to join us.

For further information, or to register to attend this seminar please contact the Events Team at events@twobirds.com or call +44 (0)20 7415 6000.
