Peter is a partner specialising in intellectual property law.  Although involved in a wide range of contentious and non-contentious intellectual property work, Peter has particular experience in passing off, trade mark, copyright, design and patent litigation and regularly speaks and writes on a number of these subjects.

Peter’s recent successes include acting for Yahoo! in the landmark UK decision (Wilson v Yahoo!) relating to whether the use of a keyword by a search engine amounted to trade mark infringement. He represented Lastminute.com at the European Court of First Instance in its successful cancellation of the CTM “LastMinutetour”.  He also represented Sany in its defence to a trade mark infringement action brought by Daimler AG in respect of its well known three pointed star mark and acted for Codemasters Software Company Limited against the organisers of the Le Mans 24 Hours race in its claim for breach of contract under an IP licence indemnity.

Peter was also co-Chair of the International Bar Association’s “Intellectual Property and Entertainment law Committee” in 2011 and has sat on ITMA’s Designs and Copyright Committee since 1996.  Since 1998 Peter has been co-editor of the INTA publication "Community Trade Mark - Regulations Practice and Procedure". 
 
This year Peter was ranked as a "top tier" lawyer for Intellectual Property in the 2012 edition of Chambers UK.
