Luke Arbuthnot
Associate
Luke qualified into the Bird & Bird Dispute Resolution Group in September 2006.
During his training and since qualifying, Luke has experienced a wide range of litigation (in the County Court and High Court) and arbitration. He has been involved in advising with commercial contract disputes (including cross-border matters), defamation claims and insolvency proceedings. Luke’s involvement includes preparing legal advice and statements of case, making and responding to court applications, drafting witness statements and negotiating claims. Luke also has experience of both contentious and non-contentious finance matters.
Luke spent six months on secondment at the in-house legal department of a major internet payment services provider. During this time, he dealt with small and large claims threatened and brought against the business and provided general legal advice, including advice on regulatory compliance, insolvency proceedings and data protection.
