Jori is a highly reputed lawyer within corporate mergers and acquisitions, private equity, banking and financial services, and EU and competition law.

Jori is the managing partner in our Helsinki office, as well as the head of the Banking and Finance Group in Finland. He is also a member of the International Corporate and EU and Competition groups.

Jori specialises in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), private equity, banking and competition. He has nearly 20 years' experience in acting on corporate transactional and finance work and providing competition law advice for clients across various industries.

Jori has particular experience in acting as the leading partner in demanding cross-border and domestic mergers and acquisitions and finance transactions as well as in merger filings and major cartel and other competition proceedings both in Finland and at EU level. For many years he has been acknowledged as one of the leading M&A and EU & Comptetition experts in Finland in all leading international legal directories. Jori has also acted as an arbitrator in several arbitration proceedings relating to M&A transactions and other commercial disputes.

Jori was the managing partner of Fennica Attorneys before its merger with Bird & Bird, and he previously worked as an associate and junior partner in another leading Finnish firm, as well as a visiting lawyer in a magic circle firm in London.

Jori speaks Finnish, English and Swedish and he is a member of several associations including the Finnish Association for Competition Law and the Finnish Association for Arbitration.
