Dr Jörg Witting, Attorney at Law, joined Bird & Bird in September 2005. Jörg specialises in German and European competition law and EU State aid law and previously worked in the Düsseldorf and Brussels office of a major global law firm.

Jörg focuses on merger control, joint ventures and other forms of co-operation and distribution agreements. He advises on discriminatory practices, represents companies in proceedings before the cartel authorities and conducts compliance programmes.

Jörg publishes regularly and is a member of Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht e.V., the German association of leading competition law experts, and of GRUR, Deutsche Vereinigung für Gewerblichen Rechtsschutz und Urheberrecht e.V. (German Association for intellectual property right and copy right). Jörg has a diploma in aeronautical engineering from the University of Stuttgart and is a native German speaker. He is also fluent in English and French.
