Graham Smith joined Bird & Bird in 1983 and became a partner in 1985. His work in the information technology sector is mainly litigation-oriented, handling both project and intellectual property IT disputes. He is also an authority on Internet and e-commerce law, which he has practised since 1994, and advises on all aspects in those areas. In 1997 he gave evidence to the House of Lords Select Committee on Science and Tecnhology sub-committee on Digital Images as Evidence. In the same year he was a member of the Society for Computers and Law and Law Legislative Working Party which prepared and submitted to the Department of Trade and Industry a report "Ditigal Information and Requirements of Form".
