Dr. Meinberg is Of-Counsel at Bird & Bird since October 2011 and supports the media team. In the past 20 years he has acquired an outstanding reputation as an expert in the sector and as a practice-oriented consultant experienced in working in a business environment undergoing extremely dynamic developments. His expertise moreover covers the entire area of industrial property law and also the organization and winding up of demanding economic adversary proceedings, especially those with an international dimension. Prior to joining Bird & Bird, Dr. Meinberg worked for the law firm Hogan Lovells and was the Managing Partner of Lovells’ Hamburg office for many years.
Dr. Meinberg advises and represents companies especially in matters of fundamental importance. He has both supervised challenging project developments and also successfully supported his clients throughout lengthy proceedings before the Federal Supreme Court and the Federal Constitutional Court. Legal specialist press has long listed Dr. Meinberg among the leading and frequently recommended attorneys in the media sector (e.g. JUVE Handbuch Wirtschaftskanzleien 2007/08, p. 453, 456, 2010/11, p. 444; Legal 500 Deutschland, 2009/10, p. 86).
Prior and also in addition to activities in his capacity as a lawyer, Dr. Meinberg has extensive jurisprudential experience and issued numerous legal publications. In this respect, the criminal law report at the 57th German Law Congress in 1988 ("Empfehlen sich Änderungen im strafrechtlichen Umweltschutz?", co-author: G. Heine), which he wrote while being a research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Criminal Law in Freiburg, is worthy of mention. Dr. Meinberg had moreover been a Member of the Board of the Hanseatic Bar Association in Hamburg for over 10 years and made a name for himself as an expert in law governing the legal profession during this period.
