Ulrich Goebel is partner in Bird & Bird’s Munich office and partner of the corporate/M&A practice group since 2003.

Ulrich specializes in the technology industry sector with extensive experience in aviation & aerospace, medical systems and media. He focuses on international and cross-border M&A deals, M&A general corporate law, large commercial transactions as well as insolvency and restructuring.

Ulrich is a recommended lawyer in both JUVE and Legal 500.

From 1984 to 1985, Ulrich was an associate at Boesebeck, Barz in Frankfurt (now Lovells) and then joined the Daimler-Benz (later DaimlerChrysler) group where he held legal and commercial positions in medical and aerospace for 14 years. He was General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Dornier GmbH from 1992 to 1998 and Senior Vice President and General Counsel of DaimlerChrysler Aerospace AG from 1998 to 1999. Until 2000, Ulrich was a member of the management board of EM.TV & Merchandising AG, an international media company in Munich, responsible for legal affairs, M&A and human resources. From 2001 to 2003, he headed the corporate/M&A department of the Munich office of Andersen Luther (later Luther Menold). He joined Bird & Bird in October 2003.

Ulrich holds a doctorate and an LL.B. degree from the University of Trier, Germany and a Master of Laws degree from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas. Furthermore, he did advanced legal studies at the University of Illinois School of Law, Champaign-Urbana.
