The French team is led by Bertrand Biette, who is also co-head of the International Corporate Restructuring & Insolvency Group, composed by 20 partners threw different Bird & Bird’s officies in Europe and Asia.

Bertrand Biette is international co-head of the Corporate Restructuring & Insolvency practice (CR&I) and head of group in France.

His field of expertise encompasses both transactional and contentious matters. He regularly advises companies or their principal creditors and investors by providing value-added legal solutions in out-of-court restructurings. He also has significant experience in transactions to support financially healthy companies in implementing changes to their capital or corporate structures to enhance enterprise value and acquire or make investments in financially troubled companies.

He is often invited to speak at seminars dealing with Restructuring and insolvency related issue Bertrand also regularly contributes articles in the financial press (e.g. Capital Finance, Option Finance).

He recently published a professional work on the French system for prevention and assistance of companies in difficulty, « Le régime de la prévention et du traitement des difficultés des entreprises – Editions Joly – 2011 ».
