Barclays, Cisco and Bird & Bird, in partnership with the Guardian Sustainable Business, are pleased to be hosting a Smart Cities event at the Design Museum, London (click here for directions), on Thursday 21 March 2013.
Smart Cities are often portrayed as a long-term aspiration, reserved for greenfield developments. We believe that this overlooks both the pressures that our existing cities are under today and the opportunities that technology already provides. Smart cities aren’t a futuristic idea, they are happening now.
Delivering Smart Cities poses some system-level challenges however, focussing on collaborative thinking. Our challenge is to move urban innovation from finding standalone solutions to a connected approach that produces enduring results.
We will be running a series of events in 2013 focusing on the Smart Cities agenda, launching with an online Q&A held on 11 March hosted by Guardian Sustainable Business.
This will be followed by the major event hosted at the Design Museum. Bringing together key stakeholders, who are actively involved in the delivery of these new urban solutions, we will explore new, collaborative ways of working and develop the models necessary to unlock further investment.
At the event we will examine a number of case-studies and look at practical issues and common themes through a series of panels and workshops, ensuring that you can engage and connect with other participants.
The event will start at 10.00 and run until 18.30, followed by networking drinks and canapés. See the complete agenda and details about the follow-up event below.
If you're interested in attending this event or for further information, please contact the Events Team at events@twobirds.com or call +44 (0)20 7415 6000.
Please note entry will be strictly on a first come, first serve basis.
